When the Morning Comes

The back story

Nine hundred twenty three years ago mankind came into it's first public contact with Extraterrestrial life in the form of a complex seed found in the core of a meteor. After years of research and experimentation the government in control of the seed successfully cloned perfectly, they found that it's base DNA was very aggressive with the ability to overwrite any DNA it was put into contact with, this factor of course led to the idea to create a weapon utilizing this factor, this was by far mankind's worst mistake, placing the original seed in a vault full of various classified materials and subjects. With in the next five year mankind had created a projectile that would overwrite the victims DNA with that of plants, this of course backfired transforming it's victims into wild and barbaric monsters mankind fell to it's own weapons dieing off within years.

Soon the plague became airborne and spread to all species something about the plague made animal life more primal but made plant life more complex. within twenty years mankind is almost entirely wiped out. Within ten years of the fall plant life has become the dominant form of life on earth having grown over nearly the entire world, even forming intertwined trees over the oceans, only the rare clearing breaks up the trees that now cover earth, the largest clearing is over the continent of Australia, now known as Grave, the forest is a dangerous place full of life forms the earth has not seen the likes of in over a million years.

Earth sung out having returned from the requiem of mankind to a state of natural being and with this did the Orin-kind rise from their hidden homes and walk upon the face of mother earth once more and with their return came the return of the arcane arts the return of the supernatural. Earth has entered it's second medieval era, and the Orin king claimed the world as his own and vowed to crush anything that opposed him, and with that brazen declaration the Orin split, the more peaceful among them separated from the more wild, content to tend to the land and practice magic.

So as it turns out mankind did not die off, small groups of a few hundred each survived totaling the known human population at just under ten thousand, three of these groups came together and cleaned up the ruins of a city and began to rebuild, they named this city "Hope" as a beacon to revive mankind's former glory, a few other cities like hope did pop up but none so well organized or containing as many people the city was designed to be completely self-sufficient so they built up vast walls around the city to keep out the dangers of the outside world, and keeping it's people from the wonders of magic.

It is now that another race made it's first move as a people, and it was a literal one at that, the Kai made a pilgrimage through the forests and to the sea that surrounds grave, swimming ashore the Kai, and the fishermen they where bonded with sought out a place devoid of life, finding a dead savanna they began their work, the Kai created their home and settled down forming a special relationship with the humans and orin whom made it all possible. The world then slowed to a crawl, the nations of the world becoming quiet to rest from the hell of the past twenty years.

After sixty years of peace the world stirred once more as the Orin discovered the city of hope, staring at it's wanders the Orin king decided it would be his, and with that the Orin under the king attacked, the humans fended them off with ease as the Orin under the king had weak and unreliable magic, however the city of hope was getting weaker and this would not be the last the humans heard from the Orin.

The Orin stuck again and again until a barrier was put in place by two famous scientist who have been lost to common society,The orin attacks ceased and peace returned,though the government in place began to act upon personal desires creating a twisted hidden society,people were abducted,experiments began all to "better" society. One group stood up to fight,To free society from the tyranny that they themselves were unaware of.
